Sepha is an established provider of specialised, high-quality equipment used in the manufacture of pharmaceutical blister packs, medical device and healthcare products. Having been acquired by the US based Tasi Group, Sepha's design brief outlined a wish to move away from their traditional methods of metal fabricated batch manufacture and move toward the use of polymers. The aim was to set themselves apart as the authority for design within the group and to set new market trends. The aim was to develop a simple, elegant design language in form, on par with the brand. Reducing the product scale and capturing a new look and feel that could transfer to a full suite of products was key. The VSM product is a tool-less, non-destructive leak detection device for pharmaceutical blister packs using a load cell and a vacuum chamber. It is used when conducting lab tests, or for QC inspection on production lines.
