Commissioned by Concern Worldwide, the book Someone Like Me aims to help primary school children learn about global development issues and what life is like for other children of a similar age in challenging circumstances. Margaux Carpentier came on board at concept stage, contributing with many ideas for an approach but also with her distinctive use of colour and style. During a briefing call, text and proposed design layouts were discussed, before continuing with pencil sketches. As each pencil sketch was approved, Margaux Carpentier went to work, adding all the colours and detail, while incorporating colours from Concern Worldwide's corporate palette, sharing the visuals every step of the process.
